Ordering information

We build mostly wet plate equipment including: cameras , field tripods, studio stands, field dark boxes, silver boxes drying racks, picture storage boxes and other .
All our cameras are designed and build by me with the help of my father and my wife to fulfil their owners specific needs.
Typically when I've been contacted with a request for an offer I ask several questions the would-be client regarding the features he or she wants to be incorporated in the design.
For example: the size of the plate, needed movements, maximum bellows draw, shortest focal length used, degree of portability e.g. field or studio use or both, accessories. On the base of the answers I made calculations for the approximate price and the building time needed for the specific camera.
We build mostly large cameras from 12x12 plate size and above, because on the second hand market there is a lot of cameras in the smaller formats which although not designed for specific wet plate use are easily converted and this is in general much more reasonable and cheaper solution.
If the stated approximate price is accepted by the costumer and he or she wants to make an order, we require for a quarter of the amount as advance payment informing him or her for the approximate time period on which the actual build can begin.
In the price of all our cameras are included plate holder with one plate size insert and two lens boards. After this advance payment is received we accept his or her order as posed.
Computer project and 3D model are build and presented to the client for approval, if any correction is needed the e project is altered accordingly, and the final price is set. It can not exceed with more then 10% the already stated approximate price.
After beginning of the actual camera construction, the client is informed regularly with e-mails and/or pictures for the development of the project.
When the project is finished everything is photographed and presented to the client together with proforma invoice which includes everything together with delivery cost.
After the final payment is made, the packaged camera and/or accessories are transferred to the carrier and a delivery tracking information is sent to the client.
